We are passionate about the history and culinary culture of our Land, with a special focus on pasta typical of Basilicata. The Ancient Romans passed down to us a written testimony, the oldest in history, of the presence of pasta in Basilicata. The ancient Lagana, mentioned in the Satires by Quintus Horatius Flaccus, a Lucanian from Rionero, is the oldest evidence of the existence of pasta in the world. However, it was in the 17th century that pasta took its true dominance, becoming the undisputed protagonist of tables not only in Basilicata, but throughout southern Italy.
With the 19th century, it became accessible to all and appeared in the three courses of meals on the table, with the first course being it. Among the typical and most renowned pasta formats of Basilicata are Maccaréune a' fírre (Maccheroni al ferro), Rasckatídde (Raschiatelli) and Recchietèlle (Orecchiette), all on sale on our website. Each format carries with it a history and tradition that reflect the culinary identity of the region. We share the history, tradition and passion for Lucanian pasta and dream of writing new pages of this tale with work, sweat and love.
